KIDAPAWAN CITY — Drought has taken its toll in at least five North Cotabato towns, prompting local officials to declare state of calamity to cushion the dry spell’s impact on crops, livestock, and other agricultural products.

KIDAPAWAN CITY — Drought has taken its toll in at least five North Cotabato towns, prompting local officials to declare state of calamity to cushion the dry spell’s impact on crops, livestock, and other agricultural products.

Engineer Arnulfo Villaruz, provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC) officer, identified the drought-affected towns as Mlang, Alamada, Aleosan, Tulunan, and Pikit.

Villaruz said estimates of damages to farm crops and livestock have yet to be released as validations are still in progress.
