Buprofezin is one of the world’s most successful insect growth regulators for effective prevention and control of homopteran pests, being broadly applied to crop protection in more than 80 countries and regions across the globe. Buprofezin is a chitin inhibitor with a distinctive action mechanism and high selectivity , is safe to beneficial organisms under recommended dosages. It is used as an essential pesticide, with its application rotated widely as a comprehensive pest control.
Buprofezin has a strong function due to its contact toxicity on homopteran pests, as well as certain functions of stomach toxicity. It is not systematicic inside plants, but is capable of penetration, and is absorbed by foliage and sheath. When being used for control of Nymphs, buprofezin can inhibit ecdysis, thus leading to the death of insects. Under normal application conditions, buprofezin is harmless to the majority of beneficial organisms.
