DAVAO CITY–Mindanao’s banana sector has expressed optimism the new Department of Agriculture (DA) chief would study and implement the industry roadmap that it has submitted to the agency last year.
Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGEA) Executive Director Stephen Antig said the roadmap identified the programs and projects crucial for the industry and the agriculture sector in general.
“Agriculture Secretary William Dar wants to help, and I guess that’s the reason why he is going around the country to meet the different sectors,” Antig said in a media briefing here Wednesday.
