It is getting hotter. When you are delayed in planting, you’d lose [your capital].

This is the common sentiment shared by farmers in San Francisco and Guinyangan, Quezon. They said it has not rained in their area since the start of the year.

Experts from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office in Calabarzon and agricultural technicians from the Office of the Municipal Agriculturists have earlier warned that this dry spell is not yet the start of the dry season. It would get drier and hotter. The farmers were advised to anticipate and prepare for the possible problems it would entail.
