CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Central Luzon has distributed 48 units of pull-type rice transplanter to selected farmer groups in the region.
The distribution of the transplanters is a component of the SMARTer Hybrid Rice Production Project Phase 2 under the Expanded Implementation of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (eCEST) program of the agency.
DOST Regional Director Julius Caesar Sicat said on Thursday that the use of transplanters can help make rice planting less physically exhausting and a lot faster.
