In the fourth quarter last year, Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGEA) Executive Director Stephen Antig warned that the country’s banana industry can disappear in two to three years if government does not intervene and help solve its problems.
“We are losing our major markets to Ecuador and other exporting countries,” he said in that interview.
