THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Department of Agriculture (DA) has signed a vegetable seedlings production agreement aimed to augment the food supply of the region amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Department of Agriculture (DA) has signed a vegetable seedlings production agreement aimed to augment the food supply of the region amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
DENR regional information officer Rosevirico Tan said the two parties agreed among others that the DENR will offer the use of its Mechanized and Modernized Forest Nursery (MMFN) and clonal nursery in Baclay village, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur as area of seedlings propagation.
The MMFN has passed the inspection and suitability and readiness assessment while the nursery personnel have undergone orientation on seedling production of hybrid and open pollinated vegetables seeds and vegetable backyard container gardening conducted by the DA personnel.
