These are the Upper Amburayan River System in Benguet, Lower Amburayan River System in Ilocos Sur and La Union, and Dupong-Matlang-Merida River System in Leyte.
Roy Cimatu, DENR secretary, said the river systems will now be closely monitored by authorities to ensure their water quality comply with the standards set in the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004.
