DIPOLOG CITY, Zamboanga del Norte, September 25 (PIA) — To improve the agriculture sector of Dipolog City and nearby towns, the City Agriculturist Office, in partnership with the Philippine Center for Post-Harvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) recently conducted a training course on the operation and maintenance of selected agricultural machineries on rice mechanization and post-harvest facilities here.
The two-day training, held at Sitio Tubod and Bayang of Barangay Galas, was participated by the members of Dipolog-Polanco Irrigators Association (DPIA).
Dipolog City Agriculturist Engr. Kerr Porlas said the training aimed to familiarize the farmers on the operation of multi-million modern farm equipments and facilities which were given by Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piol to the members of DPIA during his visit in Dipolog City last year.
