CEBU CITY The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Central Visayas is encouraging the establishments of farm learning sites and farm schools to entice the youth to take up agriculture and fill in the gap left by aging farmers.
ATI Regional Director Carol Daquio told Manila Bulletin there are five farm schools in Central Visayas that are accredited by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA): St. Peters Academy Alegria, Inc., Lamac Coop with Farm School and Balamban Intensive Skills and Technology Incorporated (BISTI) located in Cebu; Elnar Ympals Farm School in Siquijor and Maribojoc Farm School in Bohol.
There are also 32 ATI-accredited agricultural learning sites in the region.
