Farmers urged to insure their crops

LAOAG CITY In a country where an average 20 typhoons occur every year, agricultural insurance could be one of the best alternatives to reduce crop losses.

In Batac City, the city government has urged farmers to have their crops insured. Without collecting any fee, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Jubal Nalupta said the city government has allocated some funds for this purpose.

This is free of charge. So, we are calling on our farmers to make some time to visit the City Agriculture Office and insure their crops, said Nalupta in an interview Friday.
