Gov’t eyes palay silos, early planting season

Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol is proposing the establishment of state-run grain silos in the country through the National Food Authority (NFA).

Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol is proposing the establishment of state-run grain silos in the country through the National Food Authority (NFA).

Piñol also said the government is looking at adjusting the planting calendar in the country.

“We will make adjustments in the planting calendar. We will bring forward the planting season. Northern Luzon should harvest by end of August or early September in order to avoid the storm season,” Piñol said.
