LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The provincial government of Pangasinan is set to rehabilitate the rice processing complex (RPC) situated in Sta. Barbara town, as its operation and management will soon be under the province.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board) on Monday approved Resolution 646-2020, authorizing Governor Amado Espino III to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Agriculture (DA) for the turnover of the exclusive control, management, and operation of the RPC to the province.
During the boards session, provincial agriculturist Dalisay Moya said local rice farmers would benefit from the rehabilitation of the RPC, and the processing of their harvested rice could start once it is turned over to the provincial government.
