An inter-agency government group has started reviewing an offer for Israel to build 6,200 solar-powered irrigation systems nationwide.

An inter-agency government group has started reviewing an offer for Israel to build 6,200 solar-powered irrigation systems nationwide.

The Israeli government-backed proposal, if approved, would be funded by a P44-billion loan payable in 10 years.

Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE) director Cristy Pulido said the proposed SPIS projects will irrigate 500,000 hectares of rice, corn and high value crops (http://northboundasia.com/2019/04/13/govt-reviews-israels-solar-powered-irrigation-offer/).
