THE COUNTRY’S major grain stocks rose at the beginning of June, compared with the same period last year, but fell below the inventory recorded in May, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority — Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (PSA-BAS).
The latest rice and corn inventory showed that total national rice supply as of June 1 stood at 3.02 million metric tons (MT).
The report showed that the result was 30.9% more than the 2.31 million MT from the same month in 2014 but 4.7% less than the 3.17 million MT inventory in May this year.
