MANILA – Typhoon Rosita wrought an estimated P112.1 million in damage to rice and other crops, the Department of Agriculture said Wednesday.
A total of 4,979 farmers in northern Luzon and 7,448 hectares of agricultural lands were affected with production production loss seen at 6,564 metric tons, the DA’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center SAID.
Of the total cost of damage, 99.8 percent was in rice crops. The storm also damaged cabbage, broccoli, potato, tomato, garden pea, bell pepper, lettuce, carrot and snap beans, in Ifugao, Benguet and Mt. Province, the DA said.
