Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 10) San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has opened its pilot stores for local fresh produce to help farmers sell their crops during the COVID-19 crisis.
In a statement on Sunday, SMC said the two stores, located at Petron stations in Katipunan (near La Vista subdivision) and Zabarte in Caloocan, are now operational.
The initiative is in line with the Department of Agriculture’s Kadiwa ng Ani at Kita agri market program which aims to provide a platform not only for local farmers to sell their produce, but also for nearby residents to easily access fresh and healthy food.
