MANILA — The top diplomats of Hungary and the Philippines have sought to increase Budapest and Manila’s cooperation in agriculture and water management.
During a bilateral meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Pter Szijjrt on Friday, Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said these could serve as main areas of cooperation between the two nations.
With Hungary’s export to the Philippines reaching 71 percent in the first 11 months of 2018 alone and its focus on Southeast Asia as part of their Eastern Opening policy, Szijjrt is optimistic that trade between the two states will further increase in the following years.
