TOKYO has vowed to fast-track the concerns raised by Manila over certain agricultural issues, including the latter’s bid to have expanded market access for its farm goods, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piol said.
Piol added that he observed a softening among Japanese officials over long-standing issues on banana tariffs and other agricultural concerns during their recent bilateral talks.
This softening, Piol said, could be attributed to the recent visit of President Duterte to Tokyo last week.
