ILOILO CITY, Dec. 3 — The province of Guimaras has made an initial commitment to export 40 tons of sweet potatoes, locally known as “camote,” per month to the United States of America (USA) starting in the second quarter of 2013.
ILOILO CITY, Dec. 3 — The province of Guimaras has made an initial commitment to export 40 tons of sweet potatoes, locally known as “camote,” per month to the United States of America (USA) starting in the second quarter of 2013.
Governor Felipe Hilan Nava said they hoped to see the release of the fund for the construction of phase 1 of the processing plant in Nueva Valencia that will be managed by a farmer’s multi-purpose cooperative this month.
Nava said he was able to source out some P8 million from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for the processing plant to be hosted by the Nueva Valencia Multi Purpose Cooperative.
